After James (Jimmy) Stewart goes down for
the year in the 2nd game of the season, Fred Taylor helps lead C/E/R to
4 1/2 weeklies, the Total Points title, and to top it all off, the first
IOFFL Super Bowl!!!

THE "BILL
PARCELLS" AWARD
T / J
In last place in total points and winless
after three weeks, T/J won 7 of their last 11 games and climbed the points
rankings to actually just about break even -- and then took a wildcard
spot all the way to the Super Bowl!!
Not even Bill Parcells rebuilt his teams within the same year!!
(Maybe this should be called the "Jesus Christ" Award!!, but I don't want
to be sacreligious!)
THE "YES
VIRGINIA, THERE IS A SANTA CLAUS" AWARD

And his name is PETE!!......In the trade
of the year, Pete gave away Randall Cunningham for Leon Johnson.
Does T/J believe in Santa?? Of course!!

MIDAS" AWARD

C'mon!! Trent Dilfer? Wayne Chrebet?? Reidel
Anthony??? These are the guys who would lead your team???
(Of course there was Gary Anderson and Randy Moss, too!)
In the second half of the year, Jim's team racked up the points -- everything
he touched seemed to turn to gold!
THE "LOOK
WHO'S TALKING NOW" AWARD

OK, admit it...we all snickered at Kevin's draft
picks....John Elway in the first round? Marshall Faulk in the second??
Well, Kevin's team racked up an amazing 12 wins and finished two points
out of the Top 3 Points awards!
Not bad for somebody who didn't know the points scoring!!

MAKE THE CALL!" AWARD

Or the "Doing More with Less"
Award....M/J played Leroy Hoard, Tommy Vardell, and Amp Lee at running
back this season, and still finished in the top half of the teams for running
backs
-- ahead of teams with running backs named Barry Sanders, Jerome Bettis,
Corey Dillon, Eddie George, Curtis Martin, Kareem Jabbar -- should I go
on?

WHAT'S BETTER THAN THIS?" AWARD

After the first week
of the season, R/M was sitting pretty with a weekly, a lot of points, a
lot of points on the bench....never again would it get that good!
