THE SECOND ANNUAL GENERAL MANAGER AWARDS

THE "TIS' BETTER TO RECEIVE" AWARD
STEVE

Freeman, Owens, Moulds - 1, 2, 3. Who says the secret to fantasy football success is to draft Running Backs and Quarterbacks first??? And despite crappy years from all three of them, Steve wins 13 games, 3 weeklies, and 1st place in the Total Points!!!

Stephen Davis - a RUNNING BACK - had more than a little to do with that though!

THE "RANDALL CUNNINGHAM, PART II" AWARD
T / J

Kurt Warner???? After 16 games, you still have to ask - Who is  this guy??? And more importantly, where will he be next year!! Two years in a row Tim and Jim have ended up with backup quarterbacks you couldn't give away on Draft Night, but who have been right at the top of the QB position!

You've read it hear first - Next year, Jake Delhomme will be the T / J  Quarterback and will score 200 points!!

THE "IF I HAD A HAMMER...." AWARD
PATRICK

....I'd trade it a for a Crystal Ball!! Patrick got over the 70%  mark in earning available points to his team only in the last week of the season....

By the way, Patrick does have a hammer - at least a boxful of them! As well as a list of tools that would make Home Depot proud!!!

THE "PHANTOM" AWARD
CHRIS Q

Nobody has seen him (except Pete), nobody has talked to him (except Pete), and nobody has heard from him (except Pete) - and rumor has it that all mail sent to "christopher_quinn@chase.com" really gets forwarded to Pete!

But Chris - one of our two rookie "owners"  this year - came out on top compared to his brother!

THE "DAGWOOD BUMSTEAD" AWARD
JIM

Dagwood is famous for two things - eating and sleeping.  Jim only one - sleeping. (Maybe for some other things too, but we want to keep this as a family page!!)  Has anybody ever called in as many players hurt, benched, or on a bye week as Jim???

And yet, somehow Jim still won 2 weeklies and was a point away from another in a week in which he forgot to send in his lineup (and in which neither RB from the previous week played that week)) !!

Between Jim and Steve, it is now officially impossible to say Fantasy Football  is a "Science" !!

THE "EBENEEZER" AWARD
C / E / R

Was there any other team that was more difficult to make a trade with ??? C / E / R held on to their players like Scrooge held on to his gold !!

But give credit where credit is due - two division titles and two finishes in the top 3 for total points in two years - and two for two in Super Bowls !!

THE "MOM ALWAYS TOLD ME IF YOU HAD NOTHING NICE TO SAY.." AWARD
M / J

Nobody had fewer points scored against them than Mark and Joe did this year !!

(C'mon, I'm really digging deep here!!)

THE "WELL, AT LEAST THE YANKEES WON!" AWARD
J / R / T

Its only about a month and a half until pitchers and catchers report, and time to start rooting for a Yankee 3-peat!! And that's gotta be better than rooting for Kordell Stewart every week!

THE "I GOT THE FIRST ROUND BLUES" AWARD
JEFF

Last year - Barry Sanders (#3). This year - Steve Young (#5). NFL Players all around the country will be checking our website next Septemnber hopig that Jeff has not made them his first pick!!

Jeff also gets the "MCI" Award for running his team entirely long distance!!

THE "JOE B" AWARD
PETE Q

Joe set the IOFFL standard for futility in 1998...or so we thought!! Lucky for Pete that M/J was here this year!!

THE "WAIT 'TIL NEXT YEAR!" AWARD
B / G

Two years in a row the "B" half of B/G has made it to the semi-finals, but has not been able to get into the Super Bowl.....both times losing to C/E/R!

(Despite that, B/G still had an outstanding 1999!!)

and last but not least.............................

THE "I LOVE MY FAMILY!" AWARD
FRANK

Who else would put up this!?!?!?

(For you astute observers out there, this is the same award I gave myself last year.....saying something nice here guarantees I can do this again next year!!)

IN ALL SERIOUSNESS

Thank you to all the teams who participated this year..its been a very odd one indeed (at least in terms of the NFL results!) I hope you all have enjoyed it as much as I have, and that we are all back again for the 3rd season of the IOFFL!!
